Demis Hassabis
Demis Hassabis is the cofounder of the Google-acquired AI startup DeepMind. He was previously a childhood chess prodigy, video game designer and neuroscientist.
At DeepMind, Hassabis has led research in the field of deep learning and artificial intelligence. At times, their research has receieved mainstream attention, such as when DeepMind trained an AI bot to beat the world champion of Go in 2016.
Hassabis and DeepMind have more recently focused on scientific and medical uses for deep learning, including protein folding and predictive care.
